M&C secured themselves a place in the quarter finals on Saturday with a strong win against Woking RFC. The 1XV were able to score in the corner in the first few minutes. Quick thinking from Captain Corey Griffiths saw a quick change of play, shipping it wide to Second Row Fergus Garnade, who found Johnjoe Dolan in space, was able to beat three Woking players for pace and eventually found the line. Much of the first half was played in the centre of pitch, with neither sides capitalising on possession. It was however Woking that drew level in the dying stages of the first half with a contraversial try in the corner. Whether or not he was already off will be forever in contention.

It was the second half where Mitcham got fully back into the game. As the game got looser, gaps begun to appear and that's when the tries starting coming. Woking's woes were added to when a back was sent off for deliberately blocking an M&C player in a clear scoring opportunity. With 14 men, the game got more difficult and M&C were able to finish the game off in strong fashion, with excellent tries being scored by the backs.

This win puts M&C into the Semi Final where we take on Old Paulines in the Semi Final on 23rd April.
