Presented by England Rugby World Cup winner, Neil Back, Mitcham were a given a club makeover ahead of England's first Rugby World Cup Match.
Mitcham & Carshalton are delighted to announce that they were the winners of The Mastercard Team Award Club Makeover. In partnership with news.co.uk and the Mastercard Rugby World Cup, the club had its makeover in time for England's first game on Sunday against Tonga.
The club were treated to a fresh lick of paint, new lino throughout, a redecorated bar, new floorboards and many more
The doors to the freshly revamped clubhouse were opened by former World Cup winner, Neil Back, who watched the game and chatted with the with the players and even dumped tackled our chairman, into the sofas!
Club Chairman Keir Waller was delighted with the makeover. "Winning this award means everything to a grassroots like like ours. It's been no secret that the previous few years have been tough on Mitcham, but we're very much on the right track and that's thanks to the hard work of our committee and the players who are dedicated to helping the club reach new heights. We're incredibly grateful to win this prize and it's really the icing on the cake on what so far has already been a stellar season."
