A frustrating day at the office yesterday for M&C who failed to capitalise on opportunities against a injury ravaged Woking side. Mitcham started well, with debutant Kieron Roper scoring in the corner within the first two minutes. M&C scored another inside the first half thanks to JohnJoe Dolan. Despite the initial tries however, M&C couldn't replicate and squandered multiple good opportunities.

Frustrations set in, and a gap in the lineout saw Woking gain a try back. Despite having the lion's share of possession, M&C couldn't get anything to stick and were repeatedly denied by a defiant Woking. This was capitalised in the second half with Woking scoring a breakaway try in the second half. Despite valiant attempts to finish the game off, M&C simply couldn't score another and the game ended 14-14. All credit to Woking for their grit and determination until the end.

Despite the frustrations, more points on the board - but plenty to work on at training! We go again against Egham next week. Come on Mitcham!

Tries: K. Roper, J. Dolan
Cons: P. Jones x 2

MOTM: R: Timms - Excellent turnovers and great work in the forwards
DOTD: K. Roper (Great performance and debut try, but he didn't pass to the captain in open space 😂)
