At Mitcham Rugby Club we beliive that the safty and welfare of the children and young people who are members or guests of the club is of the utmost importance. It is the duty of all the coaches and helpers to promote the safety and wellbeing of each child from abuse and to be alert to the possibility of abuse

This procedure is intended to supplement the Sutton Local Safeguarding Children Board Area Safeguarding Committee (LSCB) Safeguarding Guidelines, and the policy and guidance of the England Rugby Football Union, and will be used in conjunction with these.

Safeguarding is everybody's business nd playere safety and well-being is the first responsibility of all those involved with the club. It is essential that all committee members, coaches, helpers and volunteers read and ensure they are familiar with the safeguarding procedures of the club.

Any issue or concern should be discussed with the safeguarding officer, Don Atkinson or a senior committee member. The RFU have developed a referral form and, should you have a concern about a child, this form will assist you to report it and provides contact details for the RFU Safeguarding team.
